Oversubscription Policy
OVER SUBSCRIPTION - A Class, B Class, Senior
The popularity
of many OVGA events can result in over subscription (i.e. more
applications than can be accommodated).
In these cases the respective OVGA Ladder
for the event will be used as the authority for making the draw
while respecting that a maximum of ten (10) percent be reserved
for new or returning participants. Members are urged to
participate in all OVGA events in order to establish a position
on the appropriate ladder.
A Class, B Class, Senior Events
Entries will be
processed based upon applications from member clubs submitted in
accordance with approved procedures.
The OVGA office will determine the draw
using the following basic criteria: A maximum of ten(10) percent
of the field will be reserved for new or returning members who
have not had the opportunity to establish themselves on the OVGA
Ladder for their respective category. The remainder of the draw
will be comprised of applicants from member clubs using the
respective OVGA Ladders. The Ladder will be the authority for
establishing the field and the relative tee times. Performance
results in OVGA events will take precedence over handicaps
entered on the application.
Mid Amateur Events
The primary criteria used to determine
qualification for entry into events that are over subscribed is
based on participation in previous OVGA events. Preference will
be given to those entrants who have played in the previous
year's Championship. A
maximum of ten (10) percent of the field will be reserved for
new or returning members
