As we enter the 2012 season, as your elected President, it’s an honour and privilege to represent the OVGA as it enters its 64th year of providing competitive golf in our region. As President, I am proud to represent your OVGA Board and its network of volunteers with whom we coordinate to deliver over 40 quality regional tournaments during the season.
This past year has been a period of redefining OVGA’s relationship of delivering competitive services to our member clubs between two provincial associations: Golf Québec and Golf Association of Ontario (GAO). Your Board of Directors has undertaken the enormous task of negotiating with Golf Québec and GAO to maintain our status as your regional association with both bodies. We have achieved a resolution for the 2012 season with Golf Québec and GAO. We anticipate a long-term agreement by the 2013 season.
This exemplifies the level of pride, devotion your Board of Directors, 14 volunteer members, has in offering the best in regional competitive golf. Your 2012 Board of Directors are:
On behalf of the 2012 Board, I would like to sincerely thank the significant contributions of two Board members that have left us this year: Mr. Rai King and Mr. Bruce Evans. Their contributions and guidance were truly exemplary and I personally would like to thank them for their years of devoted service. You will be missed and I thank you.
As the OVGA embarks into the 2012 season, our challenge is to exceed your competitive golfing experience, promoting new relationships and developing programs with our provincial partners for the enjoyment of the wonderful game of golf.
