Code Of Conduct
To insure that
competitions are enjoyed by all and in keeping with the
traditions of the game, the Ottawa Valley Golf Association
requires all participants to adhere to a Code of Conduct on and
off the course while present at host facilities.
OVGA
competitors are advised that conduct considered by the
Tournament Committee to be detrimental to the best interest of
the game or unbecoming of a contestant, either during play at
the course or before or after the event, will be strictly dealt
with.
Violations of the OVGA Code of Conduct include:
1. Abusive
language;
2. Club
throwing;
3. Cheating;
4. Theft;
5. Disrespect
to officials, volunteers, club employees;
6. Abuse of the
golf course or golf club property;
7. Possession
or use of illegal drugs;
8. Use of
alcohol by junior participants or any abuse of alcohol by adult
participants;
9. Failure to
show or quitting an event without adequate notification;
10. Failure to
show respect for fellow competitors;
11. Failure to
adhere to the OVGA Dress Code;
12. Any other
unacceptable conduct.
The OVGA
Tournament Committee, may assess any or all of the following
penalties:
a) Issue a
written letter of warning to the player. In the case of juniors,
a copy to parents.
b) Disqualify a
player from the tournament;
c) Refer the
matter to the OVGA Disciplinary Committee.
In the event
that the Disciplinary Committee decides that a suspension is
warranted and approved by the OVGA Board of Directors, the
player and in the case of a junior, his parents will be notified
of the suspension in writing. The player will have 15 days in
which to appeal the decision by notifying the Board of Directors
of the OVGA through its office at P.O. Box 23048, Ottawa,
Ontario, K2A 4E2 Tel:6l3-715-9969 Fax:6l3-715-9986. The Board
Of Directors will notify the player of the date when the appeal
will be heard. The Board of Directors will review all relevent
information and issue a written decision to the player within
one week. The decision of the Board of Directors is final and
will also be forwarded to the players Club, the QGA and the RCGA. |
